Hyundai Motor Company cultural and art initiatives

Overview

Hyundai Motor Company has initiated several cultural and artistic projects to highlight its brand history and global connectivity.

On September 20, the company released a feature-length documentary titled ‘The Studio: From Space on Wheels to Space on Land’. The film chronicles the 12-year evolution of Hyundai Motorstudio, exploring the architectural philosophy and cultural impact of its global locations, including Seoul, Hanam, Goyang, Busan, Beijing, and Indonesia’s Senayan Park. To support the release, a special exhibition titled ‘Hyundai Motorstudio Archive: 12 Years of Records’ is scheduled at Hyundai Motorstudio Busan.

Following this, the company launched the second installment of its ‘Hyundai Translocal Series’ art partnership featuring Singaporean artist Ho Tzu Nyen. This project connects the New Museum in New York with the Ulsan Museum of Art in South Korea through site-specific works exploring the theme of ‘power’.

At the New Museum, the exhibition ‘P for Power: Up Down’ runs from September 24, 2025, through January 24, 2027, utilizing AI-based algorithms on elevator screens to create evolving visual content. In Ulsan, the installation ‘P for Power: Double Life of P’ will run from October 22, 2025, to February 21, 2027. This immersive work utilizes the museum’s XR Lab, employing 24 projectors and a spatial sound system to incorporate data from local industry, technology, and sound. This collaboration establishes a partnership between the two museums intended to continue with annual joint exhibitions through 2028.
