Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla has classified the senator as “armed and dangerous,” while Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. issued a one-week ultimatum for his surrender. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has reportedly ordered police to act “quickly and aggressively” while emphasizing that no lives should be lost.

Dela Rosa’s counsel has challenged the legal basis of the bounty, arguing the ICC is a foreign tribunal and warning that the reward could expose the senator to “vigilante action.” Additionally, former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has argued that using government funds for the reward constitutes graft, noting that authorities are acting on ICC warrants rather than domestic ones.
