As of mid-October 2026, the expected announcement has not yet occurred. Following the absence of a DA revision during the Union Cabinet meeting on October 14, expectations have shifted toward the next scheduled Union Cabinet meeting on October 21. If approved, a projected 3% increase would raise the current DA from 60% to 63%, applying retrospectively to July 1, 2026, which would entitle recipients to arrears for July, August, and September.

Employee unions, including the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers, continue to seek this retrospective implementation. Until an order is issued by the Ministry of Finance, the new rate remains unconfirmed.
