Consequently, the club will be placed at the bottom of the table for the upcoming season, will not be eligible to earn points, and will compete in the IFL during the 2027-28 season. Conversely, Churchill Brothers has secured its spot, though its involvement remains subject to regulatory approval.

The 2026-27 season is scheduled to commence on October 10, 2026, and run through May 2027. The competition will feature 163 matches in a home-and-away, round-robin format. The league is reintroducing a play-off format where the top six clubs compete for the ISL Cup, while the team finishing at the top of the table will be crowned the official Shield Winners and earn a spot in Asian competition.
