Lazavik secured second place, earning €171,000, while Hikaru Nakamura took third place with €130,500.

Carlsen, who has maintained the world’s number one chess ranking for 15 consecutive years, noted that he adopted a “more pragmatic, conservative strategy” to manage his energy and physical condition, focusing on taking things “step by step rather than expecting victory.”

In the third-place playoff, American player Hikaru Nakamura defeated Alireza Firouzja with a score of 3-1, earning 500 points for Team Falcons in the Club Championship.
