Isabelle Johnson murder investigation and arrest

Overview

Authorities launched a multi-state manhunt for Isabelle Rose Johnson following the murder of 43-year-old Jason Christopher Coulthart. Coulthart was reported missing in May 2026 after being last seen leaving a condominium complex in Niceville, Florida. His remains were discovered in late June in a shallow grave in Freeport, Walton County, where they were wrapped in a large white zip tie, covered with concrete, and concealed by a parked black Cadillac. A DNA match confirmed the identity of the remains in July.

During the 45-day search, investigators identified Johnson, 38, as a “master manipulator” who allegedly used various aliases—including “Harley” and “Jessica”—and disguises to evade capture across Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. She reportedly used false stories of domestic violence to manipulate others into providing her with money, housing, transportation, and mobile phones.

Johnson was eventually arrested by the Walton County and Jackson County Sheriff’s Offices in the Florida Panhandle. In addition to her arrest, five other individuals were charged with obstruction or being accessories after the fact for allegedly aiding her flight from authorities.
