Israeli satellite imagery of Gaza destruction

High-resolution satellite imagery from 2025, recently made accessible via the Israeli government’s geospatial portal and GovMap service, has provided detailed visual evidence of extensive destruction and military activity in the Gaza Strip.

The imagery reveals widespread demolition and infrastructure damage in northern and eastern areas, including Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahia, and Shuja'iyya. Documentation shows residential neighborhoods leveled, deep bulldozing tracks, and new roads carved through residential blocks.

In addition to urban destruction, the unmasked data identifies specific Israeli military positions and infrastructure. This includes fortifications, vehicle sites, logistics areas, and at least 11 distinct military sites within a buffer zone established along the Gaza border. Specific locations noted include areas near the Karney crossing, eastern Jabalia, and former border crossings.

Following the identification of this unblurred data by open-source intelligence researchers, GovMap administrators re-applied blurring to the sensitive coordinates to censor the images.
