Isuzu D-Max launch and service expansion in Mexico

Overview

Isuzu has introduced the D-Max pickup truck to the Mexican market, expanding its presence beyond its traditional focus on the truck market held for over two decades. The vehicle was presented at the Salón del Automóvil in Yucatán.

The D-Max lineup includes four versions, ranging from a single-cab model for rugged work to double-cab versions with infotainment systems. The vehicles feature 3.0 turbo diesel engines designed for high torque, fuel efficiency, and durability. Company executives noted the vehicle possesses “truck DNA,” aiming to translate the performance of heavy-duty series like the ELF and Forward into a versatile platform for industrial and logistical use.

To support its operations in Mexico, Isuzu Motors de México is expanding its specialized service network. In October 2026, Isuzu Mexico and Grupo Policon inaugurated new facilities in Villa San Alejandro, Puebla. The 4,500 square meter site is designed to double workshop capacity and optimize maintenance times while providing integrated infrastructure for vehicle sales, original spare parts, and specialized after-sales service.

This expansion in Puebla is expected to generate 35 jobs. Yoshihiko Watanabe, CEO of Isuzu Mexico, stated that the expansion allows the brand to be “be closer to customers and support their business growth,” reinforcing the company’s 20-year presence in the country. The new headquarters also serves as a platform to present the Isuzu D-MAX to meet the logistics and transport needs of the region's commercial activities.
