Książulo food reviews in Poland

Polish YouTuber Szymon Nyczke, known as Książulo, has initiated a series of viral reviews criticizing food quality and service at various Polish venues.

In late August, the influencer drew attention for a video reviewing establishments at the Wrocław Zoo. He criticized the quality of ingredients at locations such as ‘Karczma u Lwa’, describing food as appearing ‘rotten’. In response, Wrocław City Hall clarified that the gastronomic points are operated by external entrepreneurs, though officials stated they would not ignore the concerns regarding pricing and quality.

In September, the focus shifted to the Winobranie festival in Zielona Góra. Książulo expressed dissatisfaction with the festival's food stalls, describing the experience as having ‘hopeless service and food from a trash can’. He specifically noted paying 160 PLN for a meal of sausage, a skewer, pork neck, a roll, and a pickled cucumber.

The review also highlighted potential tax compliance issues when a vendor reportedly lacked a cash register. Nyczke reported that the vendor failed to provide a receipt, leading him to abandon the purchase after difficulties attempting to secure an invoice. Agata Jagodzińska, a representative for the National Revenue Administration (KAS), commented that such practices are common at outdoor events and characterized the failure to issue receipts as ‘stealing from you and the state.’

Local officials have responded to the backlash. Łukasz Porycki, a member of the Lubuskie Voivodeship Board, suggested expanding the regional product zone to prevent similar negative coverage. Additionally, local councilor Rafał Kasza criticized the recurring high prices at the festival, noting that the same catering points appear annually and that such pricing should not become an accepted standard.
