Overview

Medical evaluations from Clínica Dharma indicated that Álvarez presents a ‘certain and imminent risk to himself and/or others’ due to substance abuse and dependence, which has led to acute psychotic episodes.

The Tribunal Oral en lo Criminal y Correccional N°29 has requested monthly updates on his clinical evolution. The court mandate requires the hospital to implement strict security measures, including the potential use of a police presence, to prevent premature departure from treatment. Additionally, any transfer to a specialized facility must be conducted via ambulance under family supervision and requires a confirmed vacancy through his health insurance provider. This suspension has delayed the testimonies of seven witnesses, including a priest and a forensic expert. The trial is expected to resume once his medical status is clarified.
