Legal and professional controversies involving Fabrizio__

Overview

Fabrizio Corona announced plans to launch an independent social media platform on September 14, 2026, framing the project as a “political battle for freedom from Big Tech” intended to avoid censorship by Meta. During this period, aesthetic surgeon Genny Urtis claimed that her failed relationship with Corona resulted in a loss of approximately one million euros in potential sponsorship offers.

By late September, legal challenges against Corona escalated. Mediaset and several prominent Italian media figures, including executives Marina and Pier Silvio Berlusconi and various television personalities, filed a civil lawsuit seeking 160 million euros in damages. The plaintiffs allege that Corona used his YouTube program, ‘Falsissimo,’ to spread defamatory accusations as absolute truths. Specifically, the legal action stems from content broadcast during a January 26 episode.

The plaintiffs include Mediaset executives Marina and Pier Silvio Berlusconi, alongside television figures Maria De Filippi, Silvia Toffanin, Gerry Scotti, Ilary Blasi, and Samira Lui. Mediaset has stated that if successful, the compensation will be donated to a fund providing legal assistance to victims of stalking and cyberbullying.

In filings submitted to the Milan Civil Court, Mediaset’s defense team argues that Corona operates “deliberately outside of any regulated context” and is “unbound by any ethical or deontological rules.” They contend he exploits regulatory gaps in new media to spread harmful accusations without professional journalistic caution.

A hearing took place on October 20 before Judge Stefania Novelli at the Milan Civil Court. During this technical hearing, both parties submitted requests for the admission of evidence, and the judge has reserved her decision on which evidence will be admitted for the proceedings.
