Overview

The wildfires that ignited across the Madrid region and neighboring Ávila in late July 2026 have forced dozens of residents to seek temporary accommodation. Evacuation orders for eight Madrid municipalities and five in Ávila are slated to end at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, but many families will stay in the shelters until permanent relocation is possible.
