This expansion is linked to the ‘Plan Integral Zona Oriente,’ a regional development initiative for the State of Mexico targeting 10 million residents across 11 municipalities. The plan aims to ensure each municipality has access to at least one high school and one university, alongside improvements to water, drainage, and health infrastructure.
