Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Technological advancements include the integration of Artificial Intelligence and robotics to standardize diagnostics. Researchers are utilizing multispectral cameras and sensors to convert subjective observations, such as pulse and tongue analysis, into quantifiable data. National action plans in China intend to expand these intelligent technologies and medical datasets through 2030.

Simultaneously, the field is facing increased scrutiny through evidence-based medicine. While some studies, including those on An Gong Niu Huang Wan for acute stroke, have failed to demonstrate efficacy beyond a placebo effect, other randomized controlled trials continue to investigate the physiological impacts of specific herbal formulas for conditions such as Type 2 diabetes.
