Motorola Moto Buds iOS app release

Overview

Motorola has released the Moto Buds application on the iOS App Store, enabling iPhone and iPad users to access advanced customization features for compatible wireless earbuds. Previously, connecting these devices to Apple hardware via Bluetooth was limited to basic audio playback and calls.

The app allows users to manage active noise cancellation, transparency modes, and equalization profiles. It also provides control over touch gestures, dual connection settings, and in-ear detection. Supported models include the Moto Buds 2, Moto Buds 2 Fusion, and Moto Buds 2 Plus.

To ensure compatibility, users must first update the earbuds' firmware using an Android device. Specifically, Moto Buds 2 Plus require firmware version v17200 or higher, while Moto Buds 2 require version v10.74 or later. The application requires iOS 18.0 or iPadOS 18.0 or later.

Recent details highlight that the hardware utilizes acoustic calibration technology branded as ‘Sound by Bose’. The Moto Buds 2 Plus, which is priced at approximately $149, features a classic stem design, Pantone-certified colors, and integrated AI functions. The series is positioned to compete with flagship models from brands such as Sony and Apple.
