NASCAR confirmed that the exhibition The Clash will move back to the 2.5‑mile oval at Daytona International Speedway for the 2027 Cup Series season opener on Saturday night, February 13. The race, now titled the Wheatley Vodka Clash under a multi‑year naming partnership, will kick off Speedweeks and precede the 69th Daytona 500. Speedway President Frank Kelleher called the event a “special treat” and highlighted its primetime slot, which avoids conflict with the Super Bowl and will showcase NASCAR’s new superspeedway aero package. The 2027 Speedweeks schedule also includes opening races for the ARCA Menards Series, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and the Craftsman Truck Series. In parallel, NASCAR released its 2027 superspeedway calendar, adding two race weekends at Talladega Superspeedway in April and October, featuring Cup, Truck and ARCA events. Teams have begun preparing superspeedway cars, and past winner Erik Jones expressed enthusiasm for the return to the oval.
