Investigators noted that Love’s digital footprint was so extensive that Google’s AI-generated search summaries occasionally identified him as a legitimate NFL player, which helped bolster the credibility of the fraud when victims attempted to verify his identity. Following their arrest at the Boise Airport in Idaho, federal prosecutors have argued for Love to remain in custody, citing him as a “serious flight risk” due to his lack of a stable address and extensive multi-state travel. Public scrutiny has intensified as the impersonation gained traction on social media. Leonard Hankerson, a wide receivers coach for the 49ers, reportedly posted a satirical message on Instagram regarding the matter. Additionally, a social media user released Snapchat videos purportedly sent by Love, which show him making false claims regarding his wealth, business dealings, and personal background.
