Aina, who has over 15 years of experience advising on digital transformation, took office on 31 July 2026. In his inaugural address, Aina pledged a “war on exam malpractice,” warning fraud syndicates that “their business is in the wrong institution” and promising to intensify the use of technology and intelligence gathering.

Following the transition, former Minister of Education Prof. Chinwe Obaji urged Aina to preserve Oloyede’s legacy through humility, transparency, and innovation. Oloyede, speaking after leaving office, attributed the persistent malpractice problem mainly to parents who involve their children in dishonest practices and dismissed rumours about a “snake swallowed money” incident as predating his tenure.
