Nàstic de Tarragona pre-season preparations

Nàstic de Tarragona has begun its pre-season preparations under new manager Xisco Campos. In his debut match, Campos led the team to a 0-2 defeat against Andorra, describing the encounter as “very demanding” and a necessary learning experience for a rebuilt roster.

During the Trofeu Ciutat de Tarragona, the team drew 2-2 with SD Huesca before losing in a penalty shootout. This match featured a reunion with Javi Sanz, the former Nàstic sporting director now with Huesca. The club continues an ongoing reconstruction involving approximately 18 new signings.

As the pre-season progresses, Nàstic has recorded five matches without a victory, consisting of losses against Andorra and Petro de Luanda, alongside draws against Olot, Girona, and Huesca. The team is scheduled to play its sixth friendly against Valencia Mestalla at the Estadi Antoni Puchades as they continue to refine tactical structures.

Nàstic concluded its pre-season participation in the Torneig del Centenari del Catllar with a scoreless draw against Catllar, which resulted in a loss via penalty shootout. This final match utilized a squad primarily composed of youth academy players. Campos expressed satisfaction with the performance, noting the match allowed him to assess talents for the upcoming season and emphasized the importance of ties with local provincial clubs. The event also included president Lluís Fàbregas presenting a commemorative plaque to Catllar for their centenary. The club is set to make its competitive debut against Zaragoza on August 30.
