Persepolis FC squad management and player status

Persepolis FC, led by manager Mehdi Tartar, has maintained a strong league position with 17 points from 8 matches. However, the club has faced scrutiny regarding player management and selection. While some players have played every minute of the season, high-profile signings like Hungarian defender Daniel Gra and Marco Baきč have struggled to secure consistent roles. Additionally, concerns were raised regarding the limited playing time of young talent Amirhossein Mohammadi.

In response to squad management needs, the club has moved to secure the future of its veteran players. Ali Alipour has agreed to a contract extension, and management is finalizing two-year extensions for captains Mohammad Hossein Kanaanizadegan and Payam Niandeh. Regarding player availability, Kanaanizadegan is expected to miss the match against Mes Shah Babak due to injury but is projected to return for the week 10 match against Foolad.

As the mid-season transfer window approaches, the club is working toward the departure of foreign players Daniel Gra and Marko Bakic. Both players have struggled for consistent playing time; Bakic has appeared in only three matches for a total of 11 minutes following an injury, while Gra has failed to satisfy the technical staff despite a controversial arrival. With each player holding a contract valued at approximately $800,000 for the current season, Persepolis is seeking mutual termination agreements to free up foreign player quotas for the winter transfer period.
