Police interventions and arrests in Poland

Police interventions in Poland have resulted in arrests following incidents of aggression and criminal activity in Starogard Gdański and Zielonka.

In Starogard Gdański, an off-duty officer intervened to subdue a 33-year-old man who was damaging a vehicle and acting aggressively toward other drivers. The individual faces charges for property damage.

In Zielonka, a police operation targeting drug trafficking led to a pursuit after officers observed a suspected transaction. During the encounter, a taser failed to stop a 39-year-old suspect, who reportedly threatened officers with a knife. Following the pursuit, three people were detained, and the primary suspect faces seven charges.

Recent reports indicate a broader range of criminal activity and enforcement actions across the country. In Gdańsk, police arrested a 27-year-old man wanted for multiple prison sentences, seizing nearly 7 kg of narcotics—including cannabis, cocaine, MDMA, and clefedrone—from his vehicle and residence. In Radziejów, a 40-year-old man faces up to 10 years in prison for attacking officers with a knife while intoxicated.

Traffic enforcement has also intensified. In Dąbrowa, a 43-year-old woman received a 2,500 PLN fine and a license suspension for driving 172 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. In Szczecin, a driver attempted to evade a sobriety check by entering a car wash; he was subsequently found to be driving without a license while transporting an EU-wanted passenger.

Additional traffic incidents include a 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen in Włodawa who crashed a Porsche while driving with over 2 per mille alcohol, and a 43-year-old driver in Augustów who led police on a chase before crashing into a fence while intoxicated and unlicensed. Other reported crimes include a 24-year-old in Nowy Tomyśl who defrauded a store of 15,000 PLN via a deposit return system scam, and an arrest for arson and domestic threats in the Lublin region.
