Medical repatriation of Piotr Moczulski completed

Overview

The Polish Ministry of National Defence has completed the medical repatriation of Piotr Moczulski from the Philippines to Poland. Moczulski, 42, had been hospitalized in Cebu for over two years following a severe scooter accident in the spring of 2024 that caused a traumatic brain injury, brain swelling, and multiple fractures.

The repatriation mission, authorized by Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, utilized a specialized military Gulfstream G550 aircraft. The mission was a collaborative effort between the Ministry, the Białystok municipal government, and Moczulski’s family, which included his brother, Tomasz, who reunited with him in the Philippines prior to departure. The repatriation followed significant financial challenges, with hospital costs reportedly exceeding one million PLN.

Upon his arrival in Poland in September 2026, Moczulski was transferred to the University Clinical Hospital in Białystok. He has since been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Medical staff are currently reviewing his documentation from the Philippines to establish a further course of treatment. Access to the patient is currently restricted to immediate family members.
