In early July 2026 prosecutors asked the Senate to strip Senator Marcin Zawiła of immunity over a municipal‑housing scandal. The EPPO alleges Król accepted bribes exceeding 1.4 million PLN related to a 27 million‑zł EU‑funded tram project. While the chamber approved the removal of his immunity, a separate vote rejected a proposal to detain and temporarily arrest him. In the same session, the Sejm declined to lift the immunity of PSL MP Adam Dziedzic.
