As a Member of Parliament, Golob’s immunity must be reviewed by the Mandate and Immunity Commission. The Commission has recommended that the National Assembly not grant him immunity. Golob has stated he does not intend to invoke parliamentary immunity and will vote against its granting to himself to expedite the legal process. While former acting police director Boštjan Lindav has characterized the proceedings as a “political campaign,” lawyers for Tatjana Bobnar suggest the case confirms her previous warnings regarding police influence.
