Expanding the scope of opposition to extremism, the initiative PRÜF (Prüfung Rettet Übrigens Freiheit!) organized a nationwide series of protests. In Düsseldorf, approximately 2,500 activists marched from Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz to the Ehrenhof. Simultaneous demonstrations took place in 15 state capitals. The PRÜF initiative demands that the Federal Constitutional Court review all political parties classified by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution as suspected or confirmed right-wing extremists to protect cultural freedom and democracy.
