Porsche is introducing new racing machinery for its Sprint Challenge series. In the Ibérica region, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica (PSCI) has confirmed 13 units of the new 992.2 generation 911 Cup for the 2027 season. These vehicles feature a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine producing 520 cv. The grid will also continue to include the previous 992.1 GT3 Cup model.

In Great Britain, Porsche has introduced the 911 Challenge, an entry-level track-only race car based on the road-going 911 GT3. Priced at approximately $275,000 in the United States and €208,800 in Europe, the model features a 4.0-liter flat-six engine producing between 508 and 515 hp, paired with a seven-speed PDK gearbox. To optimize the car for track use and reduce operating costs, Porsche has removed luxury features such as airbags, passenger seats, sound insulation, and carpeting, while retaining essential comforts like air conditioning and adjustable electronic aids, including ABS, traction control, and electronic stability control.

Motorsport-specific upgrades include a FIA-compliant roll cage, a fire-extinguishing system, an adjustable racing bucket seat with a six-point harness, and a steering wheel derived from the 911 GT3 RS. Positioned as a more affordable alternative to the 911 GT4 R, the 911 Challenge is set to join the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB next season, replacing the 718 Cayman models to bridge the gap between entry-level racing and Carrera Cup machinery.

This vehicle effectively replaces the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport in Porsche’s customer racing ladder, transitioning the brand’s GT racing lineup toward the 911 platform. It features a 9,000-rpm redline, motorsport-tuned dampers, an adjustable three-stage anti-roll bar, and 18-inch wheels with racing slicks. It is expected to debut in various North American and international championships starting in 2027.
