Overview

In early July 2026 ARPAL Puglia launched a permanent registry for qualified family‑care workers, posting 456 new jobs to streamline access to certified carers and formalise care work in the regional welfare system.

Later that month the municipality of Andria added an Orientation Desk to the regional “Punti Cardinali for Work” programme, offering free job‑search assistance, CV preparation and training guidance. Within a month the desk recorded more than 40 visits, helping citizens connect with education and labour‑market opportunities. At the same time ARPAL’s bi‑weekly “WorkUP” report for northern Puglia (provinces of Bari, Foggia and BAT) listed 685 vacancies, with construction, installations and real‑estate accounting for 195 openings and demand also evident in artisan trades, commerce, services, tourism and culture. All offers complied with the new transparency and equal‑pay legislation (Legislative Decree No. 96 of 7 May 2026).

On 31 July the regional government approved a €4.5 million hiring incentive for people with disabilities. Private firms that hire disabled workers on permanent or fixed‑term contracts can receive subsidies of €9,000‑€15,000 per hire, plus possible bonuses up to €3,000. The scheme, announced by labour assessor Eugenio Di Sciascio, aims to create roughly 450 jobs; applications open 5 August and close 31 December.
