Overview

Samsung Electronics has unveiled its next-generation P Series of portable SSDs, featuring USB4 connectivity, at Gamescom 2026. The lineup includes the flagship P9 and the P7 models, designed to address storage demands for AI-driven content and high-resolution video.

The P9 is intended for professional workflows, offering sequential read speeds up to 4,000 MB/s and write speeds up to 3,800 MB/s. It is described as the “industry’s first 8TB USB4 portable SSD,” capable of supporting 12K direct recording. Both models offer capacities from 1TB to 8TB, with a global rollout expected in early September 2026.
