Following the inscription, a 75-member Japanese delegation led by Kotaro Nagasaki, Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, visited Sarnath in August 2026. The visit, which included explorations of the Dhamek and Chaukhandi Stupas, was described as a testament to the spiritual and cultural ties between India and Japan. Minister Jaiveer Singh noted that the UNESCO status has enhanced the region’s global Buddhist tourism profile.
