Satanic Planet album release and musical themes

Overview

The musical group Satanic Planet, featuring Lucien Greaves, Dave Lombardo, Luke Henshaw, and Justin Pearson, has announced an upcoming album titled ‘Dead Deities’. Scheduled for release on October 30 via Relapse Records, the project blends industrial noise, electronics, and extreme music to critique themes such as Christian nationalism, authoritarianism, and bodily autonomy.

Following the initial announcement and the release of the single ‘Sam Alito’s Mom’—which references Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito and reproductive rights—the group released a music video for the single ‘Church Burning’. Lucien Greaves stated that ‘Church Burning’ addresses the hypocrisy of religious violence, citing a 2022 arson incident at The Satanic Temple headquarters in Salem as inspiration. The band describes the music as a form of protest against autocracy and religious violence, aiming to advocate for benevolence and oppose injustice through art and activism.
