To manage activity, specialists recommend regular maintenance, such as cleaning indoor plants. Arachnologist Dr. Tom Elwood notes that males become active in August, often climbing walls. Natural deterrents include using strong-scented items like lemon or orange peels, or scents such as vanilla, lavender, rose, or cinnamon. Other methods include spraying a mixture of white vinegar and water or drawing lines with chalk at entry points. Experts also suggest closing windows and sealing gaps to prevent entry.

In addition to spiders, marble stink bugs have been noted appearing on facades and windows as temperatures drop. While harmless indoors, they can damage gardens and orchards. The Agricultural and Forestry Institute of Novo mesto suggests using DIY traps containing a 2% soapy water solution, a dark base, and aggregation pheromone lures.
