Seven-Eleven Japan consumer promotions
Overview
Seven-Eleven Japan has announced a series of consumer promotions aimed at addressing rising inflation and consumer demand for cost savings.
Central to these efforts is a four-day ‘onigiri just price sale’ scheduled for early October. The first phase, occurring October 1–2, offers five varieties of hand-rolled rice balls at a flat rate of 150 yen (excluding tax). The second phase, running October 3–4, features six varieties of ‘ginshari musubi’ for 100 yen (excluding tax). This series is prepared by professional rice-cooking specialists and is designed without seaweed to highlight the flavor, texture, and aroma of the rice.
In addition to the food discounts, the retailer is launching a month-long lottery for app members throughout October. During the first half of the month (October 1–15), seven daily winners can receive 20,000 yen in gift certificates. In the second half (October 16–31), seven daily winners will receive a set of ten discount coupons for sweets, bread, coffee, and frozen foods. The lottery features increased winner counts on days ending in 7, where the number of first-prize winners increases elevenfold to 77 people per day. A second-tier prize is distributed to 10,000 people daily.
