Smilegate launch and updates of Eclipse: The Awakening

Smilegate announced the upcoming launch of ‘Eclipse: The Awakening’, a new cross-platform MMORPG developed by NPIXEL. The game is designed with a ‘MMOLite’ approach, intended to reduce the burden of intense competition and long-term connectivity through features such as an ‘AI Mode’ for offline progression and a ‘Sanctuary’ system for automated resource gathering.

Following a pre-registration period that reached 1 million users, the game officially launched on September 10th for PC and mobile devices. To celebrate the release, Smilegate has initiated various promotional activities, including in-game rewards, mobile carrier payment discounts, and an offline collaboration with ‘Saeng-Hwal Beer’.

On September 30th, Smilegate announced a major content update introducing ‘Cooperative Battle’. This new instance dungeon allows parties of four to five members to challenge bosses like ‘Lacerien’ and ‘Tulkan’ for rewards such as hero-grade skill books, stigmata, and rare equipment blueprints. The update also expands the availability of AI mode in general dungeons and implements a ‘Growth Effect’ system, which grants cumulative stats based on ‘transcendence’ and ‘weapon appearance’ to ensure character investments remain useful.

To manage increasing player numbers, Smilegate plans to launch a new world, ‘Celine’, on the 2nd of next month. This world will utilize a dedicated matching group system to connect three different servers, facilitating seamless competition and cooperation. The company continues to run seasonal events and player benefit programs to support the game’s initial success.
