Regarding student support in Slovakia, the Social Insurance Agency is scheduled to release overdue orphan pensions in September. These payments are temporarily paused when students complete an educational level; while most domestic students are processed automatically, those studying abroad or under the ministries of interior or defense must manually provide proof of enrollment to resume payments. In the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has introduced a ‘babysitting allowance’ (hlídačkovné), effective September 1, 2026. This support provides young parents who have children during university studies with approximately 7,500 CZK (300 EUR), which is one-third of the minimum wage.
