Spain is conducting its seasonal vaccination campaign for influenza, COVID-19, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). In Galicia, the immunization period runs from September 28 through December 31. The rollout incorporates RSV immunization for infants starting September 21, and flu vaccinations for children aged 6 months to 11 years beginning October 13, with intranasal vaccines preferred for children aged 2 to 11. In Ourense, services extend to health centers, residences, and homes for immobile individuals.

Other regions have launched coordinated efforts for the 2026-2027 season. In Murcia and Extremadura, flu vaccination coverage has been extended to children up to 11 years old, with Extremadura utilizing nasal sprays in 466 schools. Murcia has accelerated its schedule to preempt a potential epidemic. In Andalusia, the campaign begins October 1, offering high-dose vaccines to those aged 75 and older—lowering the previous age threshold of 80—while prioritizing nursing homes and disability centers. Andalusia is also prioritizing children aged 6 months to nearly 5 years, their teaching staff, and children aged 5 to 17 with underlying health risks.

In Segovia, part of Castilla y León, the general campaign starts October 13, though children and institutionalized individuals begin October 1. Authorities are increasing supplies in Segovia, with influenza doses rising by over 6,000 and COVID-19 supplies expected to increase by approximately 26.2% compared to the previous season. Madrid’s rollout begins October 5 for those over 60 and young children, with the broader population following on October 19.
