Taylor Sheridan television project updates

Overview

Taylor Sheridan has officially ruled out the development of a ‘Yellowstone’ spin-off titled ‘6666’. Sheridan explained that he refuses to ‘trivialize and fictionalize’ the real-life Four Sixes Ranch in Texas, which he purchased in 2022, citing a responsibility to protect the ranch’s heritage and the lives of its staff.

While the spin-off is cancelled, Sheridan remains active with other projects. Paramount has officially renewed the drama ‘Landman’ for a third season following record-breaking viewership for its second season. The Season 2 premiere, which aired on November 16, outperformed the Season 1 premiere by 262 percent and garnered 9.2 million streaming views within its first two days.

Production for the third season is scheduled to begin in September 2026 and is expected to continue through the first quarter of 2027. Cast members including Billy Bob Thornton, who plays Tommy Norris, are confirmed to return; Thornton has indicated he is signed on for several seasons, refuting rumors of his departure. Actor James Jordan, who portrays Dale Bradley, has shared updates from the set, and Michael Kelly is set to join the cast in an important role. Other expected returning cast members include Sam Elliott, Jacob Lofland, Paulina Chávez, and Kayla Wallace.

Additionally, the film ‘F. A. S. T.’ is slated for a 2027 release.
