Telangana Indiramma housing program implementation

The Telangana government is implementing the Indiramma housing program in Hyderabad, focusing on the allotment of flats to eligible beneficiaries. Following the verification of 60,720 applications, officials identified 40,900 applicants for the first phase, while rejecting 19,820 applications.

The selection process for 7,340 flats in the Core Urban Region (CURE) involves a lottery system. To ensure transparency, Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy stated the draws would be conducted via live social media broadcasts. The scheme includes specific reservations for SC, ST, BC, persons with disabilities, sanitation workers, government outsourcing employees, and Class IV employees. Under the program, the government provides a ₹5 lakh subsidy for 528 sq ft flats, while beneficiaries contribute ₹6 lakh in installments.

Recent updates indicate the government has introduced a one-time relaxation of rules for houses that have already reached the basement or upper construction stages, allowing them to receive clearance in a single step. The state will cover the resulting additional financial costs, though this relaxation does not apply to future L3 grants. Conversely, the government has decided to cancel sanctioned houses where construction has not yet commenced, redistributing those allocations to other eligible applicants.

Regarding the Indiramma LIG Housing Towers scheme, the Telangana Housing Board will issue allotment letters via SMS, WhatsApp, and its official website. Additionally, Minister Reddy is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for a tower project in Raidurg, which will consist of 480 flats on 2.85 acres of land. For this project, the government will cover the total land cost in addition to the ₹5 lakh subsidy.
