This expansion brings TAP Air Portugal’s total number of Brazilian destinations to 15. The airline has indicated plans to increase frequency to three weekly flights by late March 2027. The new connection aims to boost tourism in the Maranhão region, specifically highlighting sites such as the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, while strengthening commercial and cultural ties between Portugal and northeastern Brazil.
