Triumph Motorcycles new model releases

Overview

Triumph Motorcycles has expanded its 400cc platform with the unveiling of the Bonneville T40 and T40 Black. Developed in collaboration with Bajaj, these models utilize a liquid-cooled TR Series single-cylinder engine designed for strong low-end torque. The motorcycles blend 1960s-inspired styling—including teardrop tanks and spoked wheels—with modern technology such as a four-inch circular TFT display with ‘Heritage Mode’, cruise control, and lean-angle sensitive ABS.

To make the Bonneville heritage more accessible, the T40 series offers a mid-range, practical alternative to heavier, high-capacity models. The T40 features a design inspired by 1960s roadsters, utilizing a teardrop fuel tank with hand-painted pinstripes, 18-inch front and 17-inch rear aluminum rim spoked wheels, and a round LED headlight with integrated daytime running lights. To maintain a classic aesthetic, the bike employs traditional 43mm telescopic front forks and dual rear spring shock absorbers. The motorcycle has a wet weight of 191 kg and a standard seat height of 790 mm, with an option to lower it to 770 mm.

Recent updates specify that the T40 and T40 Black models are designed to be compatible with the A2 license. The 400cc engine is tuned to deliver 32 hp and 36 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. While earlier projections suggested various delivery timelines, recent reports indicate these models are scheduled to reach dealers in the spring of 2027. The motorcycles also feature traction control and five riding modes—Road, Rain, Eco, and two customizable settings—accessible via the TFT display, with navigation support through the Triumph Navigation App.
