A central component of the anniversary is the International 12 Metre Class World Championship, held from August 28 to September 1. This competition features historic racing yachts associated with the America’s Cup from the 1960s through the 1980s. Notable vessels participating include Kookaburra II, helmed by Patrizio Bertelli and Tommaso Chieffi, Kookaburra III, helmed by Maurizio Vecchiola, Kz5, Kiwi Magic, France, French Kiss, and South Australia.

The event includes regattas, technical meetings, boat parades, and community events. For public viewing, historic boats including Emilia, Vanity, and Thea will be present. The Italian Navy’s training ships ‘Palinuro’ and ‘Stella Polare’ are also part of the program; the ‘Stella Polare’ is scheduled to be in the city from September 2 to 5, while the ‘Palinuro’ will be moored from September 2 to 6, with both vessels open to the public.

Additionally, the Museo Navale di Imperia will host an educational initiative for children aged 6 to 12 titled ‘Piccoli esploratori in museo’ from September 1 to 4. This program features thematic sessions on sea turtles, cetaceans, jellyfish, and underwater archaeology. Italian sailing figure Mauro Pelaschier is serving as the godfather of this anniversary edition.
