Vilnius District Council to reconsider street renaming

Mayor Robertas Duchnevičius stated he feels a “moral obligation” to revisit the issue, noting that the debate has been intensified by ongoing court cases involving allegations of sexual misconduct against priests. The controversy remains centered on the legacy of Gulbinovičius, a former Archbishop of Wrocław and cardinal who faced Vatican disciplinary sanctions following allegations of sexual abuse of minors and the covering up of pedophilia crimes.
