Officials noted the road serves a dual role as a development axis and lifesaving infrastructure for fire services and evacuations.

As recovery efforts continue, officials have identified new risks posed by the loss of vegetation. Government Vice President Kostis Hadjidakis noted that the lack of plant cover has increased the threat of soil erosion, landslides, and flooding during heavy rains, prompting plans for anti-erosion and flood protection studies.

To support residents and the local economy, the municipality has introduced several relief measures. Through AROGI, eligible residents with damaged primary residences can apply for financial aid to restore or replace household goods, with amounts up to €6,000 depending on household size and damage extent. Additionally, an emergency grant of €600 per affected household is being provided, with increases for large families or households containing persons with disabilities. To mitigate economic impacts during the tourist season, a special Pass will be introduced to stimulate tourism and support local businesses. Mayor Giannis Tatarakis emphasized that these efforts aim to ensure the full recovery of those affected.
