Zona Franca de Vigo industrial and innovation expansion

The Zona Franca de Vigo has undertaken initiatives to expand industrial infrastructure and support technological innovation in the Galicia region.

Initial developments included the inauguration of 14 modular business units at the Porto do Molle industrial park in Nigrán. Expanding its support for entrepreneurship, the Zona Franca has launched a tender for a 1.7 million euro project to transform the historic Casona de la Praza Ponte de Lima in Redondela into a new business center and incubator. The rehabilitation aims to restore the currently ruined building to provide modern infrastructure for freelancers, micro-SMEs, and entrepreneurs, including coworking spaces, individual offices, and multipurpose rooms. The project intends to incorporate sustainable features such as energy-efficient climate control and advanced telecommunications. Bids are being accepted until October 26, with construction projected to begin in the first half of 2027.
