LEGO and Sony reveal PlayStation 1 replica building set

Sony Interactive Entertainment and the LEGO Group have officially announced a new collaborative building set: a near 1:1 scale replica of the original PlayStation console. The set, identified as number 72306, consists of 1,911 pieces and is designed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation brand.

The model features several interactive and mechanical elements, including functional Power and Open buttons, a disc tray that opens, and a buildable classic controller that can be plugged into the front port. Inside the console, users can discover two removable dioramas representing iconic gaming franchises: a racing scene from Gran Turismo and an island setting from Ape Escape.

Release details indicate that LEGO Insiders members will have early access starting October 1, 2026, with general availability following on October 4, 2026. The set is expected to retail for approximately $179.99 USD, €159.99, or £139.99. Some regions may also include a limited-time Astro Bot gift-with-purchase.
