India Q1 FY27 corporate earnings
Entities: Adani Enterprises Ltd · Office of Foreign Assets Control · Arun Mishra · Adani Group · Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited
Overview
Indian companies continued to deliver mixed results in the first quarter of FY 27. Adani Ports and SEZ posted a 19% year‑on‑year revenue rise to Rs 10,821 crore, with profit up 10% to Rs 3,650 crore and EBITDA climbing 19% to Rs 6,541 crore, driven by strong international‑port earnings and a 67% surge in the marine segment. Its sister firm, Adani Enterprises, recorded a net loss of Rs 1,160 crore after a one‑time Rs 2,644 crore charge linked to an OFAC settlement, but revenue grew about 50% to Rs 33,546 crore and EBITDA hit a record Rs 5,642 crore, supported by copper and airport operations. Chairman Gautam Adani highlighted diversification into new international assets, toll collection on the Ganga Expressway, expanded solar capacity and a large data‑centre order.
Vedanta Ltd reported a net profit of Rs 5,473 crore, an 18% decline from the prior quarter, as revenue slipped 1% to Rs 23,456 crore amid higher input costs. Strong performance in zinc, copper and silver partially offset the downturn. The board approved the demerger of its property business into Vedanta Property Platforms Ltd and re‑appointed Arun Mishra as executive director and CEO for a one‑year term, pending shareholder approval.
Other sector leaders showed continued strength: Adani Total Gas lifted revenue 27% YoY, Infosys raised profit 12.2%, Adani Green Energy profit grew 19.3%, and Adani Power kept its share price flat after a 60% rally, targeting 19% upside. The Indian Energy Exchange posted an 11.65% profit jump, while REC Limited’s profit rose 23% sequentially, underscoring robust performance across technology, energy and finance despite isolated setbacks.
