India Q1 FY27 corporate earnings and Adani Group performance
Overview
Indian corporates continued to post mixed but generally strong Q1 FY27 results. Adani Total Gas saw revenue rise 27% YoY to Rs 1,910 cr, while Infosys lifted net profit 12.2% to Rs 7,769 cr. Adani Green Energy reported a 19.3% profit increase, and REC Limited posted a 23% sequential profit rise.
Within the Adani Group, Adani Enterprises reported a consolidated net loss of ₹1,160 crore for the quarter ended 30 June 2026. This was driven by a $275 million (approximately ₹2,644 crore) one-time settlement charge with the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control, even as revenue rose approximately 50% YoY to ₹33,546 crore. Despite this loss, Adani Enterprises shares experienced a significant market recovery, surging 34 percent in 2026 due to heavy buying from domestic and global investors.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) showed strong performance, with a 10% YoY increase in net profit to ₹3,650 crore for the quarter. The company handled 115.3 million tonnes of cargo during the quarter, and in July 2026, cargo handling rose 15% YoY to 46.3 million metric tonnes. APSEZ is currently evaluating overseas port acquisitions along the East-West trade corridor. Additionally, the firm secured a 10-year, $70 million marine services contract for Argentina’s inaugural LNG export project and received a BBB rating upgrade from S&P Global Ratings.
