On 9 August, Basarnas officially ended active monitoring of the incident site, reporting no further signs of victims or the vessel after seven days of operations. Final manifest data confirmed that 233 of the 238 people on board survived.

The Ministry of Transportation has initiated a comprehensive audit of the Safety Management System used by the operator to ensure compliance with safety standards. This proceeds alongside an official investigation into the cause of the fire by the National Committee for Transportation Safety (KNKT).

On 19 August, Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) held a working meeting with the Ministry of Transportation, Basarnas, and the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). Lawmakers, including Danang Wicaksana Sulistya, called for a maritime safety overhaul, urging increased oversight of sea transportation, ship seaworthiness, and stricter adherence to safety procedures by operators to prevent future disasters.
