Saudi Arabia is seeing increased private sector investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure and adoption capabilities, aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.

In early September 2026, NTT DATA announced the launch of an ‘AI Factory Lab’ in Riyadh to help organizations transition from AI experimentation to business outcomes. Simultaneously, Desert Technologies and the Swiss-based CTS Group formed a joint venture, ‘CTS-DT’, to develop AI-optimized data center solutions with an initial capacity of 300 megawatts. Recent data from a Riverbed survey confirms a shift toward execution, with 90% of Saudi organizations reporting that AI initiatives have met or exceeded original ROI goals. While two-thirds of these organizations increased AI investments over the past year, scaling remains a primary challenge. Findings indicate a move toward autonomous or human-supervised IT operations within the next two years.

Despite high confidence in governance—with 54% of Saudi respondents expressing confidence in oversight, surpassing the global average of 42%—a technical readiness gap persists. While 93% believe AI assurance and governance will become critical, only 22% possess fully unified visibility across networks, applications, endpoints, and cloud environments. Furthermore, 77% of organizations remain hesitant to allow AI to make operational decisions without human approval.
