Algeria public and private sector recruitment drives

Algeria is undergoing various large-scale recruitment initiatives across the public and private sectors.

In the public sector, the government has launched campaigns for the education and security sectors. Municipalities are hiring contract workers for primary schools to manage maintenance, security, and canteen services. Simultaneously, the Ministry of the Interior is processing administrative candidates, and the National Directorate General of Security (DGSN) has opened recruitment for police officers, including 100 specialized technical roles for graduates in fields such as Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science.

In the private agro-industrial sector, Baladna El Djazair (also referred to as Baladna Algérie) has launched a national recruitment campaign to fill 1,000 positions progressively through the end of 2027. This initiative is part of the execution phase for a large-scale project designed to enhance Algeria’s food security through an integrated model of plant production, dairy farming, and industrial processing.

The recruitment drive will utilize a ‘talent caravan’ to identify candidates, starting in the Adrar province on September 5 before traveling to other major cities, including Oran, Constantine, and Algiers. The caravan aims to collect applications, conduct interviews, and provide professional orientation. This drive is part of a broader goal to eventually create 5,000 direct jobs in fields such as agronomy, hydrology, veterinary services, and industrial transformation, focusing on developing local expertise to manage strategic infrastructure long-term.
