Apple opening of Apple Music Hall in London
Overview
Apple has officially opened the Apple Music Hall at London’s Battersea Power Station. The venue, located within the historic landmark famously featured on Pink Floyd’s 1977 album ‘Animals’, is designed for intimate performances with a capacity of up to 600 people.
Internally referred to as ‘Project Apollo’, the facility represents a multi-million pound investment intended to strengthen Apple’s services business and expand its influence in the music industry beyond digital streaming. The hall features a reconfigurable 38-foot (11-meter) wide stage and a 48-speaker spatial audio system. To support high-quality video capture and global livestreams, the site includes a dedicated broadcast control room, permanent wiring for at least 16 cameras, and two professional recording and mixing studios optimized for Spatial Audio, alongside new studios for Apple Music Radio.
Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director, stated the venue aims to “strengthen the connection between artists and listeners.”
Sir Elton John is scheduled to perform on the opening night, September 28. Tickets for the first three shows are set to go on sale starting September 28. The initial lineup of performers includes Baby Keem, scheduled for October 2, Skye Newman on October 7, and others including Troye Sivan, Arlo Parks, Burna Boy, Chase & Status, and Charli XCX.
