Arbitrum token volatility amid Robinhood Chain expansion

Overview

The Arbitrum (ARB) token has experienced significant volatility following the launch of the Robinhood Chain, a permissionless Ethereum Layer 2 network built using Arbitrum Orbit technology. While the token saw a rally that pushed prices to approximately $0.241, it subsequently retreated by 10% to around $0.217 on September 24.

Growth is heavily linked to the Robinhood Chain, which supports Stock Tokens available via the Robinhood Wallet in over 120 countries (excluding U.S. residents). The chain has demonstrated high activity, reporting nearly $600 million in total value secured and over $808 million in 24-hour decentralized-exchange volume shortly after launch. Under the Arbitrum Expansion Program, the Robinhood Chain contributes 10% of its net protocol revenue to the ecosystem, having generated $43.2 million in the 30-day period ending September 18, 2026.

Despite price fluctuations, on-chain activity has surged, with perpetual decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volumes reaching $54 billion over a 30-day period. However, the ARB token has continued to face downward pressure, recently dropping to approximately $0.209.

As of late September, ARB is testing key support levels in the $0.20 to $0.21 range. Technical analysis identifies the $0.205–$0.208 area as a critical resistance-turned-support zone, with a daily close above $0.212 considered necessary for buyers to regain momentum. This decline coincides with broader market volatility driven by increased geopolitical tensions involving Iran, which have impacted oil prices and pressured volatile assets including Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

By late October, the ARB token experienced a further significant decline, falling approximately 24% over a 30-day period and reaching a four-week low of roughly $0.16. This correction erased about half of the previous rally. Despite this price drop, network activity on Arbitrum One grew, with daily active addresses rising to 563,669 on October 23, up from 95,545 on September 26.
